# Sociogram > Sociogram is a free web tool for mapping people and the relationships between them as a network diagram, then sharing that map with a link. Sociogram is a relationship map maker. Map how people are connected. Every map states whether it is real, historical, fictional, mythological or mixed, so a reader knows immediately whether it makes claims about actual people. Relationships on real-people maps carry a source URL and a confidence level of confirmed, reported or rumored. Add /llms.txt to any map URL below for its full cast and relationship list, for example https://sociogram.isik.co/m/paypal-mafia/llms.txt ## Questions ### What is a sociogram? A sociogram is a diagram of the relationships inside a group: every person is a point, every tie between two people is a line, and the shape that emerges is the thing you read. Social scientists have drawn them since the 1930s to show who is central, who is isolated, and where a group splits in two. This site is a free tool for drawing one and sharing it with a link. ### How do I make a sociogram? Open a new map, double-click the canvas to add a person, then drag from the edge of one person to another to draw the tie between them. Each tie carries a label and a kind of family, business, social or conflict, so the colours do most of the explaining. When the map is ready, share the view link. Nothing to install, and no account. ### What can I use one for? Classroom and team dynamics, family trees, company ownership, sports transfers, investigative research, and the cast of a TV show. Anything with people and ties between them. The example maps on this page cover business dynasties, political families, historical courts and fiction. ### Is it free, and do I need an account? It is free and there is no account. You open a map, build it, and keep the private edit link that comes back. There is no sign-up, no email, and no limit on how many people a map can hold. ### Are the maps I make private? Maps you create are unlisted. Anyone holding the view link can read the map, but it is never indexed by search engines and never listed anywhere on the site. You can choose to publish a map to the gallery, which is reversible, and only the example maps published by sociogram itself appear in search results. ### How is this different from a family tree or org chart tool? A family tree assumes one kind of tie and a rigid hierarchy. Sociogram lets any two people connect for any reason, colour-coded as family, business, social or conflict, and a person can sit in several of those networks at once. ### Can I show where a relationship came from? Yes. Every relationship can carry a source URL and a confidence level of confirmed, reported or rumored, and the confidence is drawn into the line style so a reader can see how solid a claim is without clicking it. ### Can a map show how a network changed over time? Yes. People and relationships can carry dates, and a map that uses them gets a timeline slider that filters the network to any point in its history. Maps can also carry an ordered tour that plays the network as a story. ### Who publishes this? Sociogram is published by Isik & Co., a company working across technology, manufacturing, consulting and trade. It is one of a small set of free tools the company runs, alongside confusionmatrixpro.com and whataifound.org. ## Example maps - [Kurtlar Vadisi](https://sociogram.isik.co/m/kurtlar-vadisi): Fifty people across the whole franchise: the original series, Pusu and the films.
